wow! id love to get 18! and even 24!! i normally drive in the city. i live 9 miles away from school with moderate traffic. i have a magnaflow exhaust, rear cats deleted, and a trd intake. i use 92 octane from either chevron or V-power from shell. im running amsoil 5W-30 and 75W-90 in the tranny and diff. is there anything that i should try differently? im not a speed racer either. i normally drive about 50mph and do not accelerate hard. thanks

I would run an OBDII scanner just to make sure there's nothing funky going on...

it sounds like you should be saving more gas with the mods you've listed... :hmmmm2:

how are you figureing 12 mpg?

miles divided by amount of gas put in. say for example.. i have 220mi before fill up and i put in 10 gallons.. i divide 220 by 10 and thats how i would compute my mpg. idk whats going on.. but those numbers you guys shooting is high! id love to get that kine.

Pull any trailer, carry heavy load, CEL light(s), steep grade, and e-brake stuck on?:dontknow:
I mean you really have to try hard to get those MPG.

I get that kind of mileage doing canyon run, constantly WOT pegging rev limiter, for a few hours until my front brake start to smoke.

Honestly, I think that's a bit normal considering how short the drives are. Recently I've been taking my gf daughter to school, and dropping off my mom to work in the morning. Since the drive is so short, I noticed my avg mpg is about 15/gal. When I wasn't, I was usually seeing about 18/gal.

My 08 when it was brand new was getting 13mpg everywhere (city and highway). I now get 18-19 pretty much all the time. Maybe the engine is still tight... :top:

You use 87? I thought the X reccomended 91. I'm confused. But anyways I'm getting like 16-17 average using 93. I need better mpg. Going to add CAI intake next paycheck. You guys think I should stay 93 or go back to 87?

Using anything 91 and above for NA is throwing money out the window. Stick to 87-89 if ur NA

I use 91-93 as available, and get 20 avg (alot of highway and town) whether I take it easy or not.
Aside from wear and tear, I have given up on better mpg. Just drive sensible, and have fun when you see a nice curve/onramp or passing semi's/dump trucks/mud covered 4x4's flinging stuff on the interstate
