I have one of those f body rear ends, its almost 2 inchs too wide iirc but that's all. I would be Interested in doing the install... If those shops fall through Lmk

5 speed shifter location is better, the getrag is a long mofo. but t56 would be my route

Ok I have nvr really done any work on a Vic until I got the x and I'm still learning about everything so I'm not the smartest. What does IIRC mean. About the install I was planning on doing everything myself. I don't want my truck to see a shop cause I want to be able to say I did it, of course with the help of friends. I wouldnt mind the help with the install but your in Florida right. about the 5spd are u saying it would be an easier install or just a longer gear ratio. I'm look it up. Thx for the input.

If this were me, I'd be looking at an auto behind that bad boy.
2JZ, imagine the aftermarket part choice! nearly as good as an LS engine lol

So been looking round asking questions and I think I am almost ready to start buying parts. It has been a toss up between the sc pc a turbo or the 2jz and I think I have made up my mind. So here is what I have been thinking of with the help of some friends. A 2jz motor with a t56 tranny and a 9" rear end of a old foxbody. What do you all think. I know it will be a lot of fabing but I think the end result will be worth it.so let the thoughts begin.

I think that it can be done, and you will have a very strong system of components. Final words: Do it!

Haha I probably will but ima work from the back to the front so rear end first. I'll hit u up when I need something from Japan. Ok so I got another question, I just thought of it. Again I am still learning but if this can be done then it mivht help with traction. Is it possible to make a rear wheel drive into awd and if so how much work will it be. If its not possible Sry Idk these things

Clifford actually started a thread discussing the potential to make an XR AWD. A lot of good ideas surfaced. Then it stopped..... Cannot use 4x4 Tacoma steering knuckles. Just too big. Just need someone to post a link to that thread.

Hmmm sounds like it can be done, but if u have awd do you loss horsepower. If so I could just get a extreme negative offset tire and have more traction that way and I could move the fuel tank to the back of the bed for weight. Just brainstorming here. nothin is in stone except the engine tranny and rear end.
