Added. How exactly does that work?

Working for Ransome Caterpillar all Mechanics are in the Operating Engineers Union. This saves me wife and I about $400 a month on insurance.

Okay... I voted on the poll. My medical insurance went up 16% this year. For me, my wife and my 3 kids - I pay just under $1100 per month... and that's with my employer paying 60% of mine. :motz: This is considerably more than I pay for my house. And no... other than the birth of our new baby, we have had no major medical issues whatsoever. Although I did move from the 30-34 box to the 35-39 box this year which I hear affected my rates as well.

Health care is free, but are medical service is the shit. US bitches how they have to pay for health care but the bottom line is when u need something done u are not on a waiting list for months.

6 month waiting list for a dental appointment may wanna do some research about a month for an appointment unless its an emergency.

i pay $301 for wife two kids and myself. vision and dental included. no co-pay fees and i get three pairs if glasses free a year. if only i didnt have 20/15 vision i would use this.

i know your pain K. my last job i paid $1088 for three of us and my copays were still 50 bucks and it was only a 60/40 coverage, 40% of medical bills is a lot. even more when you have a kid.

at 1100 a month put in a savings acct you would have 13,200 dollars, do that for 5 years and its 66,000 dollars that isnt just gone.

i know that insurance is there for the big accidents but so is car insurance and ill be honest i think that is a sham as well. ive spent 15,600 dollars on car insurance(give or take 5000) and have never used it and even if i had a small fender bender i wouldnt bother to file a claim.

I will have to check, but I know one thing, it is getting ready to go through the roof.

G

I am on the other side of the coin. I have a small company & employees. I offer 100% paid insurance & dental, but the employees pay for their spouse & kids.

And G is correct, you can bet in the near future, this is going to increase significantly.

... it already has ... across the board, rates have increased 16% this year. The projections are at least that much for 2013, even more for 2014.

That's all good if nothing ever happens to you. But the fact is, you just never know.
I never had health problems, very rarely get more than a cold once a year, never go to the doctor, but ended up having to go to the ER for emergency surgery when my appendix ruptured. Was in for a week, and had a hell of a hospital bill. Needless to say I was very thankful I had insurance.

I pay a little over $72 a month which is half. My boss pays the other half. Its good coverage with cheap co pays. This is just for me. My boss switched providers at the beginning of the year and saved me about $40 a month. And its the same coverage and co pays. I'm sure its only going to increase as time goes on though.

^Talk about a good deal. I am a (Variable Work Force) "Temp" at Toyota and they wanted to charge me 25 a week for just medical being a young single guy. I went out and shopped around and actually got better insurance for 50 a month.

$1K/yr single. But then they "give" me about $500 back when I do certain things that show I'm living a healthy lifestyle.
