Had the truck for about a year and 2 months now, it started out great. Untill all the speakers kept going out. When it gets cold the clutch pedal feels like a sand bag with the reaction of honey. The catalytic converters went out on me, The supercharger burnt up and had to be replaced and last friday the motor let loose on me. Now toyota is questioning my use and maintenance of the truck becuase of all the stuff they have had to replace.

Maintenance has been kept up by toyota religiously. I put the stock intake on as soon as i bought the truck and put the stock rims back on it just to make it as stock as possible and its been nothing but a nightmare..

As soon as i get it back im afraid to say im going to be trading this lemon in on something with a little bit more reliabilty.

Like he said if the maintenance was done by Toyota it should be on file and if they are questioning how you were driving the truck tell them to pull the info from the computer, if I remember correctly it stores info on it for a certain amount of time like speed, rpms, throttle position, etc. If you were driving normally they will be able to tell. But if you were driving like an ass they will be able to tell too lol

don't hear many stories like this....these trucks are very reliable! only normal problems or complaints are bad clutch/tranny and week brakes

It sucks your having such bad luck. I'm surprised because Toyota stuff tends to be so reliable. I rag on mine pretty hard. That shouldn't kill it. Wear stuff out maybe.

Sounds like it may just be a lemon. Replacing it with another X should fix that problem. Or you could start with a 4x4 platform for more gains.

Clutch pedal is a TSB silent-recall (you need to bring them the vehicle when it demonstrates the problem).

Speakers are crap anyway. Paper cones will NEVER produce quality sound.

Who needs cats? More too, cats & a supercharger? Get some long-tubes already!

No idea about the supercharger 'burning up'. Would be curious to know exactly what happened...

Did you ever check the oil level after they did an oil change? If they did the "Factory Fill of 4.8 (?) quarts, that is unsafe. It has to be at the top dot. Which is 5quarts. If they filled it to the middle of the dip stick, then they set you up for failure. With it at that level, engine off, it will then be at the bottom dot with the engine running.

If your cats went bad, then the s/c burnt up, and then the engine, I am thinking that your truck was running really lean or really rich. That the s/c coolant pump wasn't working and you were boosting without knowing. Those parts failed first then the engine, probably after knocking at your door.

Did you ever upgrade the fuel pump?

Did you ever bleed the clutch's slave cylinder? That stuff gets a lot of moisture in it.

 Funny Stuff, right now my x is the hottie on the block except for that lifted tundra... he keeps giving her that "i'm gonna get you girl!' look. Although would be interested in the outcome of the 2 hooking up.

But back on topic, sorry to hear about all your problems, sounds like a lemon to me, hope it all works out in your favor.

The supercharger was grinding and rattling real bad, and when i brought it in for them to look at, they said the bearings went out? I didnt really question it because they replaced it under warranty with no charge.

Im just really aggravated that all ive ever heard from toyota owners is that they have the best reliability no matter how you drive it. Well im sorry but who's gonna drive a superchared vehicle like a mawmaw? It wasnt babied but it wasnt dogged either.

Ill be better off buying a new fullsized, they get the same gas mileage but i dont have to put premium nor worry about anything going out becuase im not driving it like a bitch.

And for the amount of money id have to put into it to make it decently quick i could buy a stock camaro/mustang and still be faster lol..

So regardless it was fun as hell being my first fast vehicle im getting it fixed and dumping it off on someone else.

Sounds like the previous owner really thrashed it, and didn't do the maintenance.

Good luck!
