SignUp Now!LOL, I thought all muscle car talk all related to hypothetical Measurements anyways. :rofl:My comment was meant for this whole conversation. Lol. That took an odd turn though.
VGJ also took his mustang to japan and the JDM guys fell in love with all the raw power the 5.0 has to offer...:top: there were actually a lot of the D1 drivers throwing him offers for the STANG...
actually VGJ was 1 of the favorites to win FD: After Dark and like many other veterans he was taken out in the top 16...Matt Powers placed 3rd (driving NFS S-14) and securing him a spot for the CHAMPIONSHIP and maybe ROOKIE OF THE YEAR (depending on how Walker Wilkerson does this upcoming weekend at FD: Finals at IRWANDALE SPEEDWAY...Walker's been plagued with mechanical failure the last few events)...the finals were Rhys Millen (Hyundai Factory Sponsorship) vs Darren McNamara (Falken Tire Saturn Sky)...Rhys Millen ended up coming out with the win at FD: Stage 6 showing why he's a former champion and all around BAD @SS in anything he drives...
Coulda sworn the one he took to Japan was a '10 with s/c 4.6....
I could be wrong...its been a while since I saw the vids...but I remember it being a new 2010 Mustang GT that he took out there...I don't think it was s/c but you maybe correct about the engine...:dontknow:
EDIT: yes you are correct it did have a s/c and it does look like the 4.6...you got me...lol
I don't really even follow drifting professionally....Hahaha. I'll watch highlights and such, that's about it. Watching motorsports bores the hell out of me. I'd rather go do it.
I was following that mustang in japan series thingy. He got some bad ass angle out of her. I wonder if hes rocking custom steering knuckles in that video...
Fat cars? How much does your damn truck weigh? LOL
There are thousands of people all over the world that have already been into drifting, your not a unique club member because you want to drift. You want to do something different? Make up your own type of racing.... Everyone knows wtf drifting is because every little rice boy that has watched fast and the furious has been exposed to it.
Drifting is the fastest growing style of racing in America right?
Whats that tell you?... That a bunch of kids that want to be "different" are all doing the same damn shit too.
The Mustang is faster in a straight line and faster around a corner then the XR, and plenty of other cars in and above its class; its a very diverse platform. It can not haul a yard of stone though...
So you go ahead and keep your chin up above us Mustang owners because your uniquely drifting your unique X-Runner.
When you finally spend enough money to the point where you realize the truck still sucks above 400 HP because its still a damn truck, what are you going to buy?
A Corvette? A Camaro? A Mustang? A Challenger? Evo? STI?

X-roller, the only theroy about your idea of building a versatile truck...Do you realy think your going to be able to autocross with 600+rwhp????? and for drfting...i have never seen you drive, but going off of experience with numbers around half that, in a XR....its WAYYYYYYYYYY to much. As soon as your turbo spools, your going to be facing the wrong direction...or even worse....Heres an example of too much power, and no skill: Built, RB26 powered s14, from what i heard, it was his first time out...
lol... Best part of turbos is they are versatile too... :top: Lower the psi and change the tune....
I bet that guy cried.

So what your saying, is with the power goals he's aiming for, its not logical for auto-x or drifting? Really the only reason for that kind of power is to go fast in a straight line???
mind : blown
sarcasm detected...
maybe it was my welded diff:eviltongue:, but keeping my truck stable in a straight line was hard enough. while auto crossing, even once i was pointed straight, any slight bump or track imperfection, meant redline and loads of wheelspin...and that's with ~ 8psi(@ the redline, mind you) from a tiny ass blower. most of the power band, i only averaged about 4-5psi...:rolleyez:
I cant even begin to fathom what it would be like to try and road race, autocross or drift a turboed XR with that kind of power...Even if he lowers the boost, unless he changes the turbo for one that spools sooner, hes going to have one helluva time trying to control that. Think, mid 80's turbo 911s...This is of course assuming he even bothers to upgrade the transmission, rear diff and suspension to handle those kind of numbers...Stock LSD with 600whp=worlds longest one tire fire:laugh:
My truck, the way it is maxed out, with bolt on handling crap.... i would not feel conferable sliding it with anything around, let alone north of 400 WHP. (hence why im drawing the line at 2.85 pulley w/ TRD s/c, to much power, not enough control)
Coil overs with 4link and full D1 spec cage are a minimum, for his kind of power. Its just too much for such a shitty chassis. :frown: I cant help but wonder if X-roller has even autocrossed before...:hmmmm2:
I'll never own a powerhouse car.
1. Because cars are not very practical - Only dedicated to one thing power
2. They just aren't for me.
I like the sheer fact that I can build a fast truck and do a lot more than a car ever will. Having a bed makes it that much better because there isn't much need for another car. You know what I mean? Like you said your car couldn't tow a damn yard of stone but yet we can build a truck that can be faster than your stock power plant and be fine with that... who cares if we don't reach 8s in a quarter mile? If I wanna reach true power and be able to hook it then I would start off with a powerhouse type of vehicle but i'm not aiming to be a damn 1000 hp monster that destroys everything in it's path... I don't care to do that... I love the versatility of a truck because it can be a powerful toy with universal capabilities especially one that is currently used for autox, drift, and straight lines plus at the end of the day you load up your shit in the back of the bed and go home while you have to have a separate vehicle for that... Versatility is my main reason why I will never own a car. Just like I said...it's made to be a powerhouse and that is it.
Actually 4.6 s/c and only reason they want that car is because the amount of money he dropped into it... I am almost positive that car has quite a bit of money in suspension alone...
Another reason is because when you take a "domestic" to japan they love those things... they love the sound of them and the numbers they create...... There isn't a lot of muscle out there in japan and all the jdm places you can think of which is why a v8 powerhouse is gonna be recognized out there... reasons on why you see ls swaps all the time in jdm cars.... hell tanner foust drives one of the more famous power house vehicles... rwd TC ftw!
it's like bringing a true sylvia or skyline out here... Huge right? Same thing over there...
Nvm. You got it... Didn't see this comment. :top:
See but thats my problem with the XR...
The XR is a jack of all trades but a master of none of them...
Thing such as multiple ATVs in an enclosed trailer, lots of stone, cars, small excavators & equipment, etc... The XR is not practically able to pull any of that crap anyway lol. These are all things that I haul around, none of which I would do with the XR - I have a real truck and trailers to pull that stuff around as it should be pulled around.
The XR is good for bringing home groceries, moving furniture, and moving mulch and topsoil around ; stuff that I wouldn't do with it anyway cause it was always so clean and well kept.
The X-Runner is just not a real work horse, and therefore was useless to me as a truck.
It is your modern day El Camino but slower.
Oh and full suspension setups for the Mustang are EXTREMELY affordable.
