ill be working on a guys x runner next week. boyd from sanderson headers made him custom headers with no cat and 2.5 single in/out magnaflow 5x8x30 muffler along with a turn down.

100 shot nx kit ill be putting into it and allready have 275 40 17 drag rads for it but seeing who in here has changed teh gears. The truck needs some 4.10s or even lower 4.56s to get it moving better out the hole.

no not really. 4.56 is going to be fine especially wiht the 6 speed. im actaully trying to find the gearing of the transmission.

3.15 are stock gears does anyone know the transmission gear ratios?? also what is redline on the truck?

with the long tubes, no cats, 2.5 y pipe mated to a 2.5 y pipe back set up on 275 40 17 drag rads he 60 foot times low 1.8s high 1.7s. Only did 1/8 mile but it runs pretty good i just need to get more gear in the truck. 3.15s are hurting it off the line.

1st gear is going to be completely useless with 4.56's in an x-runner

the stock redline is 5500, and if he buys an X-1 he could bring it up to 6200

is this truck boosted?

he allready put something in to get rpms up he said plus a tune. didnt ask him much since right now a nx kit or hsw kit will be going in wet system. My main concern is he wants a better gerar.

now is 255 55 18 stock tires on this truck? does anyone know the gearing of the transmission?

I dont know the gearing off hand. But I know the people that swapped in the 3.73 out of my truck into an X-runner are now shifting 1-2 at 29mph...as opposed to 40

so a 4.56....I dont even know how short 1st will be....maybe 20mph...

good luck with that

255/45/18 is stock size

from 315 to 456 ur going way too far to make the truck nearly streetable. u'll be shifting at 5mph on the street.

373's would be the best jump. 410's would be good if u were looking to make the truck into a drag truck instead of a street truck..

what r u doing suspension wise to help with the launch? the rear suspension is much too tight for a hard lauch.

in that second link the guy says the 1-2 shift is at 27mph

so yea, 4.56's thats gonna be the shortest 1st gear ever

high 1.8s/1.7s? stock clutch? i dont see that happening. Ive got plenty experience in the n/a setup at the track and i definitely dont see that without some other sort of rear suspension mods and traction devices.

i used qa1 double adjustable shocks in the rear. I dialed in the suspension.

275 40 17 drag rads dropping the cluth at 4500 has been no issue with the current shock set up. the truck on the mt drag rads hooks hard. just he wants more gear. The truck has only 3200 miles on it so far stock cluth is holding up fine. hes a older guy doesnt know much about computers but knows how to find what he wants on the net.

if anyone has the gear ratios of 1-6 on the trans id like to get the gear ratios so i can run a 3.73 or 4.10 with a 275 40 17 to see whats up.

Lol, 4500, trust me that clutch wont last long on that, espcially if its an 08 or newer. Im now running a stage 4 6-puck clutch because of my 2nd stock clutch failing, and im only running Kuhmo V710 DOT race tires.

we do have the trans gear break downs around here somewhere in our recent post on gear swaps, Ill see if I can dig something up.

I do a lot of drag set ups on trucks

ok so with 4.56 and 275 40 17 drag rads
1st at 6200 is 24.9 mph
2nd at 6200 is 47.4 mph
3rd at 6200 is 69.69
4th at 6200 is 87.26
5th at 6200 is 103.8
6th at 6200 is 122.16

with 4.10 and 275 40 17 drag rads
1st at 6200 is 27.6 mph
2nd at 6200 is 52.7 mph
3rd at 6200 is 77.5
4th at 6200 is 97.05
5th at 6200 is 115.48
6th at 6200 is 135.86

with 3.73 and 275 40 17 drag rads
1st at 6200 is 30.4 mph
2nd at 6200 is 57.9 mph
3rd at 6200 is 85.19
4th at 6200 is 106.6
5th at 6200 is 126.94
6th at 6200 is 149.34

yah 4.10s would be perfect a 4.56 killer 1/8 mile truck. 4.10 would put him near redline in 5th going thru the traps would be perfect. with a 75 shot should trap 112-114 easy anyway. We can allways move up to a 295 45 17 mt drag rad also on his wheel.

lol stock is way little gear
with 3.15 and 275 40 17 drag rads
1st at 6200 is 36 mph
2nd at 6200 is 68.6 mph
3rd at 6200 is 100.88
4th at 6200 is 126.31
5th at 6200 is 150.3
6th at 6200 is 176.8

with 275 40 17 at 70 mph in 6th
3.15 is 2450 rpms
3.73 is 3000 rpms
4.10 is 3200 rpms
4.56 is 3550 rpms

you have the other gears of the trans also?

with a 4.17 1st and 3.73 gears with 275 40 17 drag rads at 6200 would be 30 mph
with a 4.17 1st and 4.10 gears with 275 40 17 drag rads at 6200 would be 27.6 mph
with a 4.17 1st and 4.56 gears with 275 40 17 drag rads at 6200 would be 24.9 mph

does anyone make anything between 4.10 and 4.56. Honestly 4.56 isnt that bad only 5 mph from 3.73.

anyone else have
trans
2nd gear ratio
3rd gear ratio
4th gear ratio
5th gear ratio
6th gear ratio

couple posts up.

What year truck are we talking about? The factory LSD on these is a clutch type unit. He's gonna wear those clutches out in no time if he drag races it a lot.

A True Trac should be on his list of things to buy.

Fidanza has a lightwieght flywheel for us, and Competition Clutch has a stage 2 and stage 4 clutch for us as well. Both great units.
