Does anyone know if the 2013 rear ends are still the 8.4 inch 30 spline? The TJM locker I want to order says up to 2011 on one site and 2014 on another. Just don't know which to trust.

Well I ended up ordering the TJM Pro Locker and air compressor. I will update once it's installed.

What weight and type of fluid is everyone running in their rear diffs?

Factory Recommend weight. I personally use non synthetic due to a tip a rear end shop told me regarding non synthetic natural shock dampening characteristics. I can remember what its called, but its usually added to brands like Redline heavy duty shock proof synthetic gear oil.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into either red line or amsoil.

Well I got my locker, and it recommends castrol epx 85-140 non LSD. My question is, will synthetic severe gear 75-140 work? I was going to get amsoil severe gear 75-90 until I read the instructions for my locker. Then I found they have severe gear 75-140 synthetic. The only non synthetic I found is Mobil 1 85-140. Any suggestions? I'm new to where I live so idk and rear end shops to visit yet.

Well I finally got my TJM air locker installed in the rear end and have about 600 miles on it so far. Used Castrol 85w140 non synthetic. Everything is working good and sounds fine. I did have to move my charcoal canister for clearance of the air nipple sticking out the top of rear diff. Very nice kicking sideways with posi now. Drives just like open diff when unlocked, but sucks at slow turns when locked. I will be doing a build thread here soon with pics, I have been doing a few mods these past few months and want to share what I have. I just got few more items to install yet.

Nice.

I would use the correct gear lube. I think it is 75w80. What you have in there is to heavy. I put that in my 4Rnner accidentally one time and I could feel the power loss from the thicker oil.

The air locker itself recommended Castrol EP 85w140 with no limited slip additives. I'm actually going to change it out this week with AMSOIL severe gear 75-140. I too notice the power loss, but I'm hoping the AMSOIL will be better. Plus with the high in Texas, the thick oil warms up and thins out faster.

Pictures will come soon. Been hectic lately between moving, modding, and work. I also had to move my evap canister box a little to accommodate for the air nipple sticking up out of the differential. Just had to trim a section of the bed underneath and just unbolt the canister and move it a little forward on the passenger side and rebolt it. Hard to explain. Pics coming
