thanksim going to try and shop around since the rest of my plastic is a little faded i really dont want a new one that would stand out like a sore thumb.
Yes I am a heavy collision specialist. I do insurance work and all aspects of auto body repair and auto service at my shop.
I buy wrecks, some salvage/ total losses and rebuild them on the side, most go to family or close friends, but I have sold a few.
There are various products for making the black plastic look black again, such as Meguiar's Back to Black. I typically used this on my last Tacoma that had a step-side bed and a lot of black plastic steps.thanksim going to try and shop around since the rest of my plastic is a little faded i really dont want a new one that would stand out like a sore thumb.

Back-to-Black worked OK for me. After a good washing, waxing, and "back-to-black" session, my truck looked pretty nice. However, by the next time I washed it, the black plastic was already looking mildly faded again. Note that I live in Wisconsin so the sun might not be has harsh up here.I use that. I just don't think a new piece by the old pieces could look right . Did you like the back to black. It just don't seem to do a good job like I would like. It dries out kinda and they fade maybe my trim is just too far gone for it.
