Sorry dude, I'd recommend taking a look through some other member's shots and get an idea of composure, lighting, content and angles. There's a lot to be learned from the pics of others.

Take a look at this thread. Yeah, I know, you don't have a fancy bridge in Texas. But ignore the bridge and keep an eye on content and composure. Also look at the photo galleries posted by members for last year's calender.
