I am testing the waters to see if I can get enough people interested in this to make it.

This would be an aluminum oil pan similar to what I am making now, but with less capacity. Currently the pan I have now will hold 7 1/2 qts with a large filter and 7 1/4 with a small filter. The DJM oil pan would be at 6 ~ 6 1/4 quarts.

I would reduce the depth to make it fit behind the cross member. This would still be a baffled pan. It would come with all hardware/gaskets for installation.

Price would be $1100, shipped to the lower 48 states. I would be looking for a deposit of $250. The balance would be paid when complete. I would expect about 8 weeks to finish the pans, after we have 5 people committed with paid deposits.

These are pics of the 7 1/2 qt oil pan.

I need five (5) people to make this happen.

So is the one I bought too deep for a dropped front end?
Not that I think I'll drop it, but just to know for later on..

I think it will depend on how far you drop. I have an XII drop and I have never hit the oil pan or the guard.

The current pan, just barely pokes bellow the cross member. This is why I made the guard. The guard protects the pan, in case you try to roll over a curb.

What exactly is the benefit? Just more oil and cooler oil?

You get those benefits and the pan is baffled. That way, not all of the oil rushes to one side of the pan (during a heavy corner).

I bought his original pan because I figured $1100 was a LOT LESS than the cost of a blown motor!!
