So i have been working on my door and just want you guy to see how it's going. i will keep you guys posted as it goes. I am running Dynaudio 3 way estec 7" mid bass 4" mid and 1" tweeter.
step (1) I started by cutting out my opening for my 4" Mid
Step (2) I made the pod to hold the mid by useing 3/4" MDF wood and body filler
Step (3) mount the pod in the door. Then I made a ring to hide the mounting hardware.
Step (4) I stretched grill cloth around the opening. Then I fiber glassed the grill cloth
Step (5) once i fiberglass the grill cloth i sanded and filled with body filler
Step (6) I sanded the body filler down
Step (7) cut a in the upper triangle panel and mount the tweeter cup. I also added 1/4" MDF wood to space out the panel.
Step (8) make supports to hold the tweeter in place
Step (9) fill with body filler sand and primer
Step (10) test fit the speaker and wet sand tweeter pods.
I will have more pix soon.
