Cross tubes over the engine and tubes to to the frame still to be added, but here is where she stand right now. Tube clamps in there so front bumper can be removed and engine bay components still accessible. Definitely stiffened things up a good bit and its pretty cool right now cause it gives you a good feel for how much flex there is on the front of the frame and in the chassis normally.

Sorry, few of the photos didn't turn out that well due to the humidity/moisture on the lens.

Bumper is ShrockWorks here in town, but Dave did the tube work. He moved to another shop down the street from Javier's at the begining of the year.

Issues I saw after the first run was too much frame flex and the suspension moving past where we had set bump. Testing out what works well now and what doesn't to mitigate the frame flex. Full interior cage might be needed to stiffen the engine bay if the firewall and fenders can't handle the load. See how this works and go from there :top:.

Crack on the LCA mount as you can see below.

Dave addressed the crack and added gussets

Been awhile since I posted up in here. Weighed it the other day. 5166lbs with no one in the FJ and just under 1/2 a tank of gas. Time to go on a diet and move some of the weight from the front to the rear.

Currie 60 is coming out an a 9" will be installed with wishbone and trailing arms. Cage will then come in after that.

A little front left heavy for sure. Dang . That sucker has some mass behind it.

This Currie 9" you speak of. Any pics or links?

Interested to know what you'll be doing with your current 3-Link Setup :crinklehair:

Supercharger, dual batteries, steel skids, 80lb front bumper, etc add a good bit of weight to the front even with the fiberglass front and sparco seats. No rear bumper on the rear, and no rear interior whatsoever, so that skews it a bit more. Weighed another FJC the other day and it was 500lbs lighter and weight was biased 52% to the front compared to mine.

Not a currie axle. Going to run a used modified stock 9" housing. It's over 100lbs lighter than the other 9" housings out there and will be more than enough for what I do with it. Ditch the locker and will just run a spool.

It's the one off the back of the buggy here. Buggy will get a new housing instead.

3 link and coilovers have been sold to another local here in town. Axle is being shipped to the west coast. New coilovers and bypass shocks for the rear should be ordered in the next couple weeks.

I swear, that your project dwarfs mine in all aspects of what it takes to do something custom.

I would like to know more about your modified 9" housing though. Seeing as one day that might be in the plans for me as well.

I don't know man. Your FI/engine work is pretty unique from the last time I looked through your build. I'll have to have a look and get caught up on the latest developments.

Here is the only other photos of the housing from when Dave built it for his buggy a couple years ago. It will be cleaned up and modified a bit. Might convert it to a full floater. Its a stock 9" housing that's shaved, braced, and gusseted. Will end up with a third with 4.88s and a spool from our friends over at just differentials.

Weighs over 100lbs less than this 9" that Dave built for one of our customers a couple weeks ago.

It weights significantly more built than what I'll be running. That is a 9" housing from ruffstuff above that we rewelded (2nd two pics). Strength wise it won't be a significant difference for what I'm doing (seeing as the stock one was running 37s at similar power and in rougher conditions), so unsprung weight is a bigger impact at this point.

Having Dave do the install of that two?

And I can't remember, but did I ask if you posted their address before?
