yeah he says it is but hes also saying a buddy of his said they wont fit do to the center cap or something im guessing hes just trying to back out of the deal

Yes it will.

All Toyota's with a 5 lug pattern are 5x114.3

If I remember right the bolt pattern is correct but the bore is different

1st Gen 5 lug = 67.1mm

2nd Gen 5 lug = 60.1mm

You have to bore out the Xrunner rims to fit the older style
