So back in October I decided it was time to move on from the Xrunner. I was able to get the right price for it so there was nothing to keep me from selling it. I then picked up a 95 4runner for a whopping $1200. It ran a little rough and has some rust on the back right quarter panel but the price was right.
This was the 4Runner the day I picked her up
After about a week I had a list of new parts and a new look here is a short list of what I did
Rebuilt Calipers
New Rotors
New Pads
New Shocks
New Plugs
New Wires
New Injectors
EGR/Pairing valve Delete
Flushed and cleaned coolant system
New shift solenoids
New 33" mud tires
New rims
New tail lights
Here is what she looked like after the well needed maintenance
Well I decided this 4runner wasn't enough so my wife had mentioned she saw one for sale on her way to work one day and this is what I ended up getting.
another 95 4Runner
Family of 4Runners lol
Well this one didn't run very well at all....it had an obvious rod knock and the transmission oil was cooked. all the suspension bushings were shot and so on and so forth. the kid who owned this defiantly beat the hell out of this thing but she kicked back like a mule.
So my fun began
So after the tear down I had found the #2 piston rod bearing was slung and mashed paper thin. I took the parts to the shop to be cleaned and checked. Luckily the only thing that needed replacement was the crank itself. So I purchased a crank kit and a OEM master rebuild kit with all Toyota OEM parts and prepped for the rebuild.
Of Course I had to paint the block :blurock:
a few days to let the paint cure and it was rebuild time.
Started here at 9am on a Friday
(this pic was took the night before)
and by 6pm the same day I was here
by the end of the weekend it is build and waiting
Now I started the Tranny rebuild and I would rater get punched in the balls than to ever do this one again...I am just waiting on a few parts and reassembly is around the corner
I hope to have this up and running by the new year but the parts are going to be what holds me up stay tuned for what follows.
