This is a question I got abotu LS Halo Kit that Im selling

" have an 09 i have the day time running lights, so do u know if the halos will run with those or only with the running lights turned on"

my answer

I looked at the instructions and it looks like the Halos are wired into the side marker light. So if your side marker lights run with you daytime running then they would go on. Im going to post something on XRU to see if Im correct. Im not sure but if you tap into another power source or run a seperate switch to the halo you could turn the halos on and off as you please.

Don't know much about 09's or the Halos so just wonder Im giving the right info. Also not sure if I posted in correct area please move if needed.....

You can connect the Halos to whatever 12v power source you'd like. If you connect them to the side markers and the side markers come on, the halos come on. With some extra relay work, you could control them either separately or with the side markers. You could also do as you stated and opt to control them independently from a switch.

Titan nailed it. It is a matter of personal preference and whether you want to do all the work of running wires e.t.c. It can be hooked up to the DTRL but if done wrong they are gonna flash when you turn your indicators on.

So basically I should just wire it the way that the instructions say to, and if i want to run the halos just turn the running lights on?

I have DTRL on my 07 and I tapped into the side markers.
Setting 1: DTRL, No Side Markers, No Halos
Setting 2: DRTL+Side Markers+Halos
Setting 3: No DTRL+Side Markers(?)+Halos+Headlights

Hope this helps :top:

By settings he was talking about the position on the headlight switch and what happens at each position :top:. Honestly, I would just hook it up to the park lights (side markers) and call it a day. You won't have a problem if you buy the setup arizonacatjetton :top:.

Really? Let me break it down a little more for those wearing helmets :eviltongue:

My truck has DTRL
I tapped power for the halos from the side markers
The following is the result:

Setting 1 (off): DTRL ON, Side Markers OFF, Halos OFF
Setting 2 (running lights): DRTL ON, Side Markers ON, Halos ON
Setting 3 (headlights on): DTRL OFF, Side Markers ON(?), Halos ON, Headlights ON

Hope this helps :top:

Just playing Rat

I have mine wired to the Turn Signals/DTRLs.
That said, Halo's are on when the Turn Signals/DTRLs are on.
Yes, they also blink when the turn signals blink, but I wanted them to do that, not because i "did them wrong (per Yardie's earlier post)." :eviltongue:
