Army National Guard. 15T,Air Traffic Controller. Returned Oct. 07 from a 18 month deployment. Mosul, Bahgdad, and Tal Afar. D114 ATS. We had a great bunch of guys and gals over there. We were fortunate to come back home with every soldier that we got on the bus with that very memorable day we told our families goodbye. For you guys over there, keep up the good work. Those that are back, job well done.

Yeah the money is good when your wife owns her own house and every dime of BAH goes in your pocket and you live in san Diego!!! Besides most E-1 thru E-4 are not smart with thier money...thats why most of them are broke. Before i got married i had good money. I lived on base drove a beat up car and drank every night and still found money to put in to savings. life was good!! and before i joined i was rolling pennies to put gas in my car to make it to work because i was so broke. The money is fine people just don't know how to manage thier money.

This is true. Granted it take's some time for the good stuff to start rolling in but E-5 and special duty pay is great for tourist season here on the beach. 2F0 for AFSOC

never in the military, but may be going to the sandbox for a year or so starting next spring.. can't beat a 180k a year, and a good chunk is tax free... I figure it will give me a good start b4 i decide to start a family.
This is exactly why Im getting out. Civilians get ridiculous amounts of money for what we do in the military.

Not in the military, but my dad was in the Airforce. I almost joined the Marines out of high school back in 99.

Very thankful for all that you guys do for our freedom and protection!
