I've heard the new uses a drop-in filter. Is that correct?

I know for a fact you will get a lot of responses saying the Old model over the new model.

If I had to choose it would be old, but personaly neither is my preference. I like my Cai much better (performs and sounds much better).

Yes, it is a oiled drop in filter and it is the same size as the stock filter in the new 1GR engine. The carbon trap is the same also, the mounting points are the same. It appears they pretty much coppied the stock air filter box in from the new 1GR engine.

I'll stick with my old style CAI, there doesn't seem much difference to using the new type filter compared to not having a CAI at all? imo.

I kinda like the raw looks of the new TRD CAI. Plus the new drop in TRD filter is easier to clean. I do like what Coupe is doing with the old style lid. :top:
