like the title say...

just curious to see how ppl here compare their xr's to other brands/makes they have had.

ive always had at least one truck at any given time and as many as 3 at once. the x is by far my favorite with my nissans coming in 2nd.

other trucks i own/owned:

1 - ford f150

2 - nissan hardbodies (1 reg & 1 ext cab)

1 - mazda b2000

1 - nissan frontier se (4 door)

1 - chevy xtreme

1 - xr (wifes current dd)

i still own my first vehicle i ever bought new which is a 90 nissan hardbody. i got it during the mini truck craze and it is now a future resurrection project. i loved the looks & style of the xtremes but got rid of it cause it was a single cab. i actually found out about the xr's when searching for an xtreme ext cab step side /xtreme blazer.

my wife loves the xr too...the only thing she wishes was that it was 4 door w/real back seat like the frontier. if toyota made a crew cab xr, we'd be all over that.

right before my x i had a 2005 quad cab ram 2500 5.9 cummins turbo diesel 5" exhauat, cai, injectors, bully dog programer with powerpup, dual 6" smoke stacks, crazy souund system, and it was fast. i would walk alot of people. a more than 900 ft. lb torque truck is ****ing fun and blowing smoke if someone duece gets behind you or does some dumb stuff on the road is a plus but it got a little excessive. could barley have a conversation in the truck above 30 mph and she definatly did not like the corners haha. put 157000 miles on it and traded it in for a new x back in april or may. i love how the x handles compared to that and love the lines and interior. ive always wanted an extended cab truck and im glad i went we the x but i do have to say i think its a little underpowered stock but hey what fun would it be if you diddnt make it fast your self. i use my truck as my dd and to haul my stuntbike to the spot a few times a week and dont regret this decision at all i love my x

The only other truck I've owned was a 1999 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner.

Great truck, but the back was too small for the whole family (back wouldn't fit the rear facing baby seat).

The pics below are when the X-Runner was only 2 weeks old:

First truck was a 56 chevy. 400 sb and 4spd. Gas guzzling toy that looked great and was a lot of fun. Then got an 85 toyota xcab. Sold it to get a new 91 toy xcab. Still have it with 450,000 miles on it, but in the mean time, picked up an 88 S-10 to drop another 400 sb into. It's loud, rough, no radio or stereo, just another toy. Really can't drive it much when it's raining. Now I have the X. It's the smoothest. I like them all for different reasons. The 91 is now my trash truck and dog hauler.

I used to have a 03 S10 ZQ8 stepside. It had the 4.3 and a 5 speed. I loved the damn thing. It was in great condition but I sold it to my dad when I bought my G8. My dad let my brother drive it, and in less than a week totaled it. I still miss it every once in a while lol. It was a nice little truck.

Here they are in order:

1987 ford ranger (sucked balls)
1980 ford f150 (little better)
1976 chevy k10 blazer (would climb a tree, but sucked as a street vehicle)
1983 chevy c-10 (started life as an inline 6 with no power anything and when I finished she was a pro street beast pounding out just over 850 hp from a 454 bb)
2003 chevy silverado z71 (by far on of my favorite trucks, but during the gas crisis I was paying $4.50/gallon for a truck that got maybe 14 mpg). Here's a pic:
bigrig.jpg

2008 Xrunner (I have owned this truck for the past 4 yrs and loved every minute of the truck and what its become, but I have to agree with others when I say I wish it was a bit roomier. But other than financial reasons I wouldn't trade the ole girl for anything)

Sorry, I only had a pic of the truck previous to the X.

2004 chevy colorado reg cab 3.5L 5speed- every bolt on and could only get a 15.03 out of it
2010 titan worse truck ever
2011 ext cab silverado nice but wasnt worth the gas note and just wasnt my kind of truck
2012 srt8 jeep - lets just say it was in a class of its own

I like my x-runner may not have every bell and whistle but it fits my style and i forgot how much i love driving a stick

I have a 97 s-10 singlecab stepside 4.3 5-speed with all new steering and suspension components within the last 20,000 miles. I thought it was the greatest thing ever... then I got my x-runner. It is currently my winter beater. I also have a 1981 FJ40 landcruiser that I did frame off build. It has a fiberglass body, chevy 350 under the hood, about 9" of lift sitting on 36" tires. Each truck is great in a different way. The s-10 is fun to drive sideways in the winter and if I hit the ditch its not a big deal. The landcruiser is fun because I havent seen anything even close to similar, and the x is just all around fun.

Had a 99 Dakota R/T extended cab in red with a black bumble bee stripe on it and black rims. Had an intake, full exhaust and head work. I swear it would beat my x in its current configuration in speed and handling but the Dakota had stock suspension. Loved that truck and sometimes wish I still had it more then my X. Loved driving an auto trans, especially a trans with no issues

I don't have a xr (yet) but I did have a harley davidson edition 2002 f-150
Amazing truck but I was commuting 100 miles a day at the time and it didn't make sense financially!
This truck with snow tires was also amazing! Wish I didn't have to sell but the avg of about 10-12 mpg got old quick!
In my experience (bough new - had it for 2 yrs) it was a very reliable truck, fast in a straight line but turned like a brick(no mods - could have been fixed if I wanted to spend the coin!). If I could afford the mpg I would own one again (probably over an xr)!

had a 1990 6lug extra cab. 22re. 260k miles before I sold rebuilt the head due to a faulty temp sensor and blown lower rad hose. Truck was bullet proof minus that slip up. Should have never sold it. Replaced it with a 96 C1500 that I dumped 6k into and ended up falling apart which led me back to my 05 taco. I will never own an 80's or newer chevy truck ever again....

1997 F150 reg cab v6 (first ride at 15) good reliable truck only mod I did was a white gauge face
truck1.jpg

The XR..... yeah aside from the constant trans issues I had great truck
P4090087.jpg

1997 F150 ext. cab Lariat picked it up cheap drove it for 6mo and flipped it for 40% profit
Truck001-1.jpg

2004 F150 4x4 Lariat... may be my favorite truck, only one I truly regret selling was leveled out sittin on 33" Nitto's with a grill guard.

1993 F150-this is a family heirloom only has 76k all original paid way more than its book value though.

2000 ford Ranger loved the truck. Rangers will take a beating and still get going till I totaled it
96 Chevy Silverado with a 4/6 drop put alot of money into it allbeing done right since the guy before me didn't know up from down then the transmission went out loved the truck but the xr is a much smoother ride.
01 Zx6r. Super fun sold to get a636
Out of all the xr would have to be the best
