See what you guys are running. Ive messed with the older tacomas with the trds on them and went to pulleyboys.com to get some pullys and get boost up there. we ran 2.0 pulleys and got like 12 psi out of them.

On you guys trucks what boost level do the kits come with and is it a eaton blower?? has anyone ran on some stickey tires and dropped the hammer on it??

I had the pulley boys pulley on my eaton set up and the stock pulley id loose 2 psi boost by redline and the pulley boys pulley i didnt loose that boost and they are coated also which helps with slip.

im sure i can talk to them to make you guys pullies also if needed also they have sales which makes the pullies only 60.

stock boost on the trd s/c is aorund 5-6psi.

then theres Doug who is getting 8psi outta his. it really depends on where you live as to how much boost your gonna see. but as Matt just stated 5-6PSI is about the average.

so what are guys running at their boost levels? 5-6 psi 13s?? 7-8 12s??

Also how much are pullies from these other companies. if they are less than 89 bucks then yah go with them.

I just hope the guys with the blowers are going to the track on sticky tires. These trucks dont hook great and also with the 3.15 gearing off the line isnt the greatest. Id love to see a truck on some "correct" drag radial tires with the blower at the track because if your not gettin sub 2.0s your just spinning.

my buddy was runing 2.4 60 foot times in his supercharged silverado. We put some drag rads on it and cut his 60 foot to a 1.78.

he gained 2mph but went from a 13.8 to a 12.7.

and to answer your question, we only have one x-runner in the 12's and he is twin turbo. but we dont have much aftermarket support. but u just asked this question in the right time bc a new pulley came out and a few other mods so it will be very soon you see a few trucks in the 12's. well first of all we dont have traction being a truck and all LOL espescially with a light bed. and we have a v6 truck with a wierd tranny (not talking about nate!!!) HAHA

I dont think eveyone has turned their TRUCK into a drag setup, but there are a few with drag radials. Most are running in the 13's or should be. If you want to put a pulley smaller than 2.85 on the s/c you have to grind the snout.

isnt there 2 kits out?? so most you can get out of any kit is 8 psi boost? now if you do headers and full exhaust that boost level will drop prob to 6.5 to 7. there is no crank overdrive kit out?

even wioth drag radials the best ive seen is a 1.87 60'. and the most boost we are seeing around here is 7-8 psi. but with this new 2.7" pulley we will see a few trucks ruuning 9-10 psi + so its going to be sick

APR and URD make a 2.85 pulley...APR makes a 2.7........and NST makes lightweight accesory pullies and has a group buy right now for a crank overdrive pulley.

the 2 kits ur talking about are trd superchargers and urd superchargers. we sont have many numbers out for the urd s/c yet. but when they have the smaller pulley and everything they see around 10 psi.

hum 1.87 what drag rads/tire heights

i was just running some numbers and im going off a 106 trap speed which i think the blowers can hit (correct me if im wrong) A lot of guys drag sets up i do i see that before hand they dont get the correct tire height to get them at the traps at their optimum power level

lets take for example

stock tires 255 45 18 and lets just say 6000 rpms max in each gear
1- 36.7
2- 70
3- 102
4- 128
5- 153

So lets say you trap 106 mph that means you would be in 4th at only 4900 rpms which is way below what you would want to be at.

Lets say a guy put a drag radial on with stock gearing
275 40 17
1- 34
2- 66
3- 97.6
4- 122.2
5- 145
so at 106 you would be in 4th at 5200 which is better but not the greatest.

Now 275 40 17 with 3.73 gear swap
1- 29.4
2- 56
3- 82.4
4- 103.3
5- 122

you would be in 5th at 5200 going thru the traps still not the greatest but id be topped out in 4th for best times.

now lets take the 255 45 18 and 3.73 gears
1-31
2- 59
3- 86.8
4- 108.78
5- 129.45

you would be in 4th at 5850 rpms going thru the traps at 106 mph which is perfect but we know the stock tires aint gonna hook.

mt drag radial 295 45 17 with 3.73s
1- 31.5
2- 60
3- 88.2
4- 110.4
5- 131.4

So with 295 45 17 at 106 trap speed you would be going thru the lights at 5700 rpms which is perfect.

If the guys are spending thousands on a blower and headers/exhaust/tune etc why not spend a few extra hundred get the truck to be a perfect combo for the track??

Now if you guys can tell me what these trucks trap wiht the blower at 5-8 psi boost and i can see if 106 was over estimating or under estimating.

the 2 kits ur talking about are trd superchargers and urd superchargers. we sont have many numbers out for the urd s/c yet. but when they have the smaller pulley and everything they see around 10 psi.

ok cool. as of right now what is the fastest time anyone has ran with the supercharger set up??

also the turbo one is in the 12s what mph is he running?

i'm going tonight by the way... and i agree on the tire size/ trap speed deal. my redline (stock) is around 5500 and with a 98 trap, i have to shift into 4th for just a second.... seems like a waste.

my 60' is steady 2.0's on stock tires

yah drag rads should net you 1.8s easy. im working on a suspension set up for the rear wiht the qa1 adjustable shocks that i set up in my buddys truck. hes nat asperated and on 275 40 17 low 1.8s 60 foots and a few high 1.7s is very easy.

yah drag rads will help him hit a 1.8 and could drop into high 12s.

3.73 with some 295 45 17 will be the correct ticket for these trucks for sure.

my wifes tbss ran a 12.7 at about the same mph he ran and with a 1.72 60 foot time which is the deal maker out the hole

Thanks for the info guys.
