You have a wonderful opportunity given to you, don't F it up!!

The hardest thing is to learn to get along with other cadets and the instructors. The rest is easy.

Just remember one thing above all else, most public safety agencies have very good retirement plans and you can likely retire much sooner than just about anyone you know. The job is fun, but the prize is at the end!! Max out in deferred comp from day one and you can really have a very, VERY nice supplemental retirement check in addition to your regular one. MAX OUT!!!
