Yes they should air circulated on them but lots have built in fans which help. But usually are your high end ones

It'll probably be ok in there. As long as the amp and sub are matched to each other, the amp is adjusted correctly, and all the wiring and connections are good, it shouldn't get too hot. Wosrt case scenario almost all amps have some kind of overheat protection and it'll kick off if it gets too hot. But an amp small enough to fit back there, if its correctly set up, shouldn't put off enough heat to worry about.
