Got mine straight from the factory. Go to another dealership, because obviously the people your talking to don't have a clue. Sorry for the bad luck bro.

You don't need to go to a dealer. I have towed two jet skis on my X-Runner, lowered with the SOS drop kit, without any problems. Here is a pic:

Here is a pic of the hitch installed. Note that it is not a hidden hitch - that's just the cap that I got to go on it because it was black and inconspicuous.

I purchased the Curt Tow Package from here (scroll to the very bottom for the X-Runner compatible version):
http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2007_T...oma+Pickup.htm

And here is the wiring harness you'll need:

You can see some more photos of the hitch on my truck here:
http://www.xr-underground.com/forum/...ry.php?cat=636

If you're lowered - you'll need a 4-5" Rise... likely a 2-3" Rise otherwise depending on your trailer.

Hope this helps!

Hey Klint, what kind of ball mount are you using (lift/drop specs)? Do you have any profile shots with the loaded trailer hooked up?

I am in need of a hitch as well to tow my race car. So specs and pics would be great!

You don't REALLY need a friend but it would certainly help. What I recommend is that instead of following the directions verbatum, take ALL of the bolts out first. They tell you to take out six and leave two (so the bumper stays on). I fought with it for HOURS that way. Eventually I removed all of the bolts, took the rear bumper off and slide the tow package on in less than 20 minutes.

If any of you guys have questions during installation PM me. I'd be glad to even give you a call if you need to help over the phone. The instructions way is a PITA - so just take the bumper off, it's simple really.

I don't. But what I can do is hook of the receiver/ball and get a shot of that. My jet skis are packed up in the backyard for the winter so I can't easily get a shot of the trailer attached.

I just went to AutoZone and got a receiver/ball combo with a 4" rise. To be honest, with the drop a 5" probably would be perfect. The 4" still is just a LITTLE low - but not a big deal... it's close to level. I just think that extra inch would get it to sit perfectly level with my trailer anyway. Also make sure you pickup a lock combo - receiver/tongue combo. I think I got a MasterLock combo for like $15-$20.

That would be sweet!

Thanks for that. i was actually looking at one that had a 5" rise, but wanted to make sure first. Thx. :top:
