okay so ive pretty much decided to turbo the x and im thinking twin... anyone got pics of this set up or even the singles? what made you guys go single instead of twin? twin guys are you running in series or parallel? which is better rear mount or the traditional front mount? also ive been told that headers and exhaust would be pointless if i did rear mount cause the restrictive point would be the turbo its self.. idk. what are you guys doing bout fuel? what size turbos you running? how much did you build your motors-/trans? sorry just been thinking and thinking and now i got nothing but time here in the land of the morning calm lol thanks

also what type of ecu settup are you guys running and any helpful tips

Theres about 6-7 of us on the forum that are turbo powered. front, mid, and rear mount. :)
More should chime in soon.
I wouldnt go rear mount.
Front mount would be best.

First off,

What is your budget?

That will determine pretty much all of the questions you just asked.

Toon's setup is relatively straight forward, and get to use DTLT headers. Makes that nice since custom headers don't have to be constructed.

On a rear mount setup, upgrading to DTLTs and URD Y pipe are a must.

On a mid mount you can still use the DTLT or ST, but the Y-pipe will be custom.

On a twin setup, you have to have two custom headers, and two of everything except the intercooler.

On twins, a set of GT28R's is what you want for stock block, and up about 600+ on a mild built engine.

I am running the ProEFI Pro128.

Where are you located widdoz?

STS Rear Mount Turbo Kit, Upgraded Turbo to a 64MM Turbonetics, AEM EMS is the tuning software I chose, Upgrading injectors and fuel pump, internals, and water/meth or e85 after it's all said and done. aiming to push about 13-14 psi

That's gonna be tight.... Internals are kind of expensive for our trucks unfortunately due to the lack of supply/demand.

you are gonna spend about 2200 on just rods and pistons... at least...

6-8k wont get u 500hp.
the turbo setup will cost alone around 5-8k depending which route u go.
than ur gonna need forged internals thats gonna be atleast 5-6k
than tuning 2-4k depending on wat ems u pick.

torpsd should know the best estimate on a 500hp turbo setup.
since his truck is sitting near 500hp already.

6 bolt mains ftw. I think 6-8k is reasonable for a cheap kit and a healthy motor.

I'd say regardless of platform and to do it right, $8-10K for 400-500whp.

I think someone should let Dezod build a set of manifolds for a set of twins. :D

yes sir.... we have 6 bolt mains so our crankshaft is happy with that... I'm sure the stock crank can handle it's own up to 500 horse easy...

I agree, and been done. :)
