URD 3in. Catback

Just a quick question, the URD catback bolts up to the stock Y-pipe even tho its a 3 in. pipe?

It narrows down at the flange so it can attach to the stock setup. The URD performance Y-pipe does the same thing. Makes both simple bolt in to replace the stock system.
If you get both and want better flow you can cut off the flanges and get the full 3"
