With the help of my XRU amigo Marc (Whitebeauty), I finally got the URD 2.825" pulley installed this morning and was promptly rewarded with at least 8 pounds of boost - as advertised!

Here are some pix:

1st picture is of the 5-Ton gear puller in action.

2nd picture is of the pulley shaft sans stock pulley. It came off pretty easily once it broke loose.

3rd picture is of the URD pulley being expanded slightly by heating in boiling water on a propane camping stove in my garage.

4th picture is of the URD install tool in use. Note: I'm using an oil filter wrench lined with duck tape to prevent the pulley from spinning as it's pressed on. The URD tool worked extremely well. It's now For Sale! : )

5th and 6th pic is of the finished product installed.

Props to Whitebeauty for sacrificing his Sunday morning to give my truck about 15-20 more HP.

Boiling the pulley is okay but I prefer the oven method either way makes installing a snap.

Install was a breeze, but my wideband gauge shows an AFR of around 10 at WOT - actually, the guage pegs at 10, so It might actually be 9 point something.

With a 2012 X, what are my tuning options? I've got the Toyota re-flash, but it seems to be super rich at WOT. I know I'm losing power, but what options are available to me in terms of getting the AFR closer to 11 or 11.5??

Same thing is happening to me man. 10-10.1 at WOT. Will MAF cal work on a 2011 and 2012?

Nice, Detective_Dan. It looks like we have similar mods. Did you get the Toyota reflash? We need to investigate our 'tuning' options. Who better to 'investigate' than a 'Detective', eh??:top:

It wouldn't hurt to ask Gadget about the MAF Cal.

Install that damn NST kit then recheck AFR. If you don't install it then give it to me, I would've had that sh!t on along time ago.

I thought it would make the AFR leaner?

If by 'it' you mean the pulley, then I understand what you mean - but it did not. My system has a line that pumps boost pressure into the FPR at WOT, so, when I increase boost, I'm also increasing pressure on the FPR which dumps more fuel into the mix. Need some electronics!!

I thought the nst kit with urd pulley will max out the trd injectors, and being that we're both 2009+ we can't tune for larger injectors?

Yes and no, we can't tune for larger injectors but it appears the TRD injectors we have will suffice. If I ever get a an overdrive pulley it will be on and I will let you know for sure, but I think it will be fine. I also have an adjustable meth kit on my car, if I need extra fueling, right now I use it for cooling.

Depends on which size URD pulley. However, sdxrunner had been running the 2.85 URD and NST lower for quite some time. On reflash, TRD injectors, and the FPR mod. Never had a problem.
