Damn 500 bucks is a dent in the wallet for a detector no matter how good it is.

Dont know what it costs to get caught speeding where you live.

Here one ticket with court fees, fines, and DMV fees can easily cost $500-$1,000.00.

+ Insruance rate increases
+ Points on your license for speeding
+ Your time wasted going to court

My setup easily saves me several times a month; well worth the initial investment.

If you only speed about 5-10 MPH over on the highway thats the style of driving that its good for; if you are a serious speeder you should really re-consider.

It will not detect everything all the time, and wont stop laser.

My visit to Texas resulted in two laser encounters and lots of Ka; I wouldn't hesitate to invest in high end gear if your doing high end speeding.

It's money well spent and will work in every vehicle you own for quite a long time.

yea im not speed racer i only do about 5-10 over

Hey thanks for that info. The style of driving u listed is how i am n I have fortunetly have not had speeding tickets. I would always pay attention to the flow and lights. so with all that being said would u say that the above mention detector is a good one to get?

V1 all around still performs the best in my personal tests with my police issue speed measurement equipment.

Want to see how bad an Escort 8500 X50 is at picking up quick instant on busrts vs. the V1?

This is a $300.00 radar detector (not a 100$ cobra/whistler) and it failed miserably.

How well do you think the $100 cobra/whistler detectors do? They dont.... Never had one pick up this type of radar.

Check this out...

V1 vs. Escort 8500 X50

Radar Fired 7 times total:

V1 - Alerted 7/7
Escort 8500 X50 - Alerted 2/7

Spend the money once on a good one.

For 5-10 over you really dont even need a detector.

Most police wont even pull you over on the interstate until you get to 10 MPH over or more.

He's gonna say a v1

V1, Escort 9500 CI, Bel STI-R (if you can find one).

I've had my V1 for over two years now and I never had a ticket, shadowdeath is absolutely right it is THE BEST radar detector you can get. I had a cobra radar previous to that and I got caught doing 96 in 65 I payed over $400 in fees, I tossed the cobra in the garbage and got a V1.

I cant wait to see how popular the Escort "LIVE" technology gets, if enough people use it will be an awesome tool.

Wow... lol

I wish there was such thing as an 80 MPH speed limit here.

Fastest we go is 65 :-D

You pass a cop anywhere speed limit or not your getting pulled over lol.

There is no shortage of dick cops out there.

I need to get me one of these v1's. Whats the price?

$400.00

The cheapest you will ever get a new V1 is from them directly, they do not have a dealer program.

I did this video a year ago i think when i purchased my Valentine 1 at first I was skeptical but still owning one this is the greatest investement i purchased :)

I hate scotchlocks / T-Taps!!!!! X_X

Good video of running the wire though.

DS - what do you think of the STI magnum? I have one of them.

Heard of it, have not tested one yet.

If you want to mail it to me id be glad to. :-D

The STI-R (which was a remote mounted STI with tunable Ka band frequency) worked awesome.

Does this have tunable Ka band?
