With all the time issues with the 4.0 motors . I am thinking a 5.7 I-Force XSP motor swap is the better way to go for me.

If you are going to do a swap, you need to do the 4.6 or 4.7 V8. It has an iron block and is closed deck motor. Very strong. The pistons are also the same size as the 1GR. Not sure if the rods are the same or not, and haven't looked to verify. Strong motor than the 5.7. It is open deck. It has weaker rods comparatively to the 1GR when it comes to power increase. Unless of course you throw some forged rods in it as well.
Besides, there aren't really that many issues with the 1GR motor. 5.7 has had its fair share as well though. It is al about pushing the motor past its designed limits. It can only take so much before you need to reinforce it. Internals. Higher the psi, the more reinforcing is necessary. Thus the sleeving.
Very common for other types of vehicles as welcome.
Basically the only way around it is to get an closed deck iron block motor. The cylinders won't wobble, and those motors don't come in xrunners. Lol. 2rz,3rz,2jz,3uz, and I think 5vz.

Lets just put a jet motor into our truck!
All the parts have been at APR for a very long time now. Just waiting and waiting and waiting....

I checked with APR and got the two weeks thing again.
I think it is time to pull the project from him.
