changed my oil, 10-30 amsoil full synth, did some spirited driving, and now i have this wicked tick from the top back driver side of my engine, It sounds like a collapsed lifter, but I thought these engines had shim on bucket or whatever so they were solid. the noise is most prominent on light to off throttle conditions, and I can definitely feel a hesitation getting on the throttle in 3rd gear, but it quickly returns to normal. any ideas on what this could be before I rip the charger and valve cover off?

Yep, solid lifters.

If one collapse, you have a real problem.

Take the supercharger belt off and try it again.

Might the supercharger, lets hope, but sounds like an internal engine problem.

that was my next plan of action, its definitely in the head if not the charger, so at least its not a spun bearing.

Hmmm...thats exactly what my first engine sounded like after it ate a screw and spit it out. Only thing it did is make a nasty tap in the top end.

Good luck!

Did you over rev it?

Have you pulled the s/c belt and revved it yet?

Need moar info mang.

Try pulling the spark plugs on the driver side, and see if any of the ceramic is missing from around the electrode.

Yea, pull the dip stick and wipe it on some white copy paper and look for metal particles in it.
