Yea - sorry about that. It is the shipping costs that make it much more expensive. We ship via the USPS to Canada, and the additional cost is $26 (so $125 total). However, this does not include any taxes, duties, or fees the Canadian Govt. might impose.

If you are interested, just send me a PM and I can get it set-up for you.

From what I understand about torque wrenches, over time they need to be recalibrated if being used enough. Is it possible to do this on this unit?

In regards to re-calibration - all torque wrenches need to be re-calibrated at some point in time. The only exception to this is the traditional Beam Style Wrenches - since you can see if the pointer is still at zero (and if it is not, you can just bend it back into position). The biggest issue with most torque wrenches (the "click" style) is that if you forget to turn the torque wrench down to its lowest setting after use, the spring will deform -and the wrench loses accuracy. This is the single biggest reason why torque wrenches become out of calibration. Our digital wrench is actually based on the traditional beam technology - so there is no need to turn the wrench down after use - and it holds its calibration very well.

However, it will at some point still need to be re-calibrated. How often is a tricky thing - since it depends on your needs / uses. Obviously, a person who is using their wrench to assemble aircraft engines will want it re-calibrated more often than someone who is using it to tighten lug-nuts on their car every few months. In general, we would recommend having it re-calibrated after 3K uses.

In order to do this, you would send it back to our calibration facility in Chicago.

Let me know if this answered your questions.

Do these beep and vibrate once the torque is reached or are these the "click" style?

Very nice product for the price. I really like that it will switch from ft/lbs inch/lbs and NM. Very handy. I need one.

It is not a click style. Our wrench will give you a yellow warning light when you are approaching your Target Torque, and then a Red LED and Buzzer when the Target Torque is hit.

In terms of actual usage, they are all pretty similar to each other. We use a different, patented method of measuring Torque that is inherently much less expensive to manufacture. This is why we are able to offer our wrench for much less than our competitors.

BLMW

Is 1/2" the only size your offer ?

The 1/2" model is the only one we currently offer. We are working on all different sizes, but these will not be available for some time.

If anybody is curious about the product hit up google. I had to do a little research when he decided to join our forums. Jimmy has done this type of buy on several of the other automotive forums. I didn't find any negative comments or feedback about the customer service or the product. Seems like a great wrench at a great price.
