Jason from NC had a long post on here about the VVTi actuator on his truck getting locked or jammed and he kept getting weird codes from it.

I have searched and searched and searched and I cannot find that thread. I pretty much can never find anything I search for.

Can someone help me find that thread???

I think I know a guy that is having the same problem and want to help him out.

Thanks!

You can always post your solution here, and leave it up to Jason to find it.

Very close.

There is another one I cannot find. Done by Jason in NC. I think he is Lex-X or Way to low, BoostClothing or something like that.

He now has a Lexus he cannot drive into his driveway.

G!!!

Sorry I didn't get to you yesterday and i'm still at work now but yardie said you had posted up here.

With the gear I was getting the random camshaft position sensor codes and also crankshaft position code. Noticed it was something more then that after i swapped crankshaft sensors.

Actually the guy from NC who is a Toyota tech told me of people having issues with the VVTI gear usually after a front impact (which is why mine did the motor came from a truck with a front end collision apparently).

Only solution for me was to swap the a working gear over, luckily I had the spare engine to source from the swap. Swapped that one on the motor and it started up and never threw a code again.

Any way hope that helped if not shoot me a call 757-773-1813

So, to summarize, you installed the VVTi actuators from your spare engine and that solved the problem?
