Honestly, this is a never ending subject because some prefer turbo and others prefer superchargers. They both have their ups and downs. I prefer turbo myself because I was a DSM guy:ahhhhh: before I got the XR and have experience with them. I love having boost when I want it and saving gas when I want to. Its also nice being able to adjust your boost level from inside the vehicle in a matter of seconds.

this is a never ending subject, but its good to hear both sides from the supercharger and turbocharger guys...i personally want to try turbo, but probably will have to end up waiting for a company such as Garrett or Turbonetics to come out with a kit. Not brave enough to make a custom kit for the GR yet...

I have to say turbocharged. Unfortunately I don't see that happening with the XR due to money but I still have my GSX to get my boost fix on:biggrin:

Turbo all the way, imagine a Twin set up on the X! of curse you have to remove the battery box and redo some metal sheet work (driver side is a headache ) but not imposible. Fascinating ah!

Here is a idea of what it can be done at my friend shop,

I was thinking a twin setup would be easier than a single.

just mount the turbos down about where the second set of 02 sensors are.
this is how the lingefelter corvettes are setup. then just run boost tubes up the grill for an intercooler, and up the the throttle.

down would be easier but wouldnt that create more lag? If your going for 1/4 mile then it prob wouldnt matter as much as a daily driver.

Would like supercharger but got tired of waiting on trd used the cash to get me to where I'm at now.going with nx mainline set up within the month.nothing radical(top shot is 70) just enough to put a surprise on the f-150 necks around here that try to impress me.after seeing what happened to rob I'm kinda leaning towards the turbo.:top:

I bought the turbo for my Rx7 on Ebay.

But I knew exactly what size and type I wanted to use.

Summitracing.com recently started selling Turbonetics equipment.
its not in there catalog, or online, you have to call them as its special order.

turbonetics is nice stuff.

superchargers are easier to tune, and make CARB/Emissions certified

due to the fact that there operation is engine driven and very consistant.

turbos, being driven by exhaust, are somewhat inconsistant in there operation.

things like outside temp, humidity, stuff like that affect turbos more.

this is not really noticable to the driver, but when trying to pass 2007 CARB standards, it makes a big difference.

I dont think any manufacturer has ever released a factory turbo "KIT"

nevermind, thats probably the loudest car ever.

that thing sounds totally insane when he blips the throttle.

my guess is its idling at like 2-2500rpm, and probably turn 10K+
