Well to be honest "normal driving" for me is haulin ass just about everywhere. Since I've owned the truck I have been shifting on average around 4 to 5 k everytime. My mpg hasn't been that bad but hasn't been good either. I get about 16 a gallon. Kinda weird but I've noticed the more mods I do to the engine the less I floor it. That's why I wanted to get an idea on everyone else
I passed an older coworker yesterday doing 70 on the interstate and he walks up to me this morning and asks why i drove the truck so hard? I fell out laughing. Bear in mind, I was driving normally nothing hard, or fancy and the speedlimit intact....LOL
I shift when the the engine noise says too. I rarely look at the tach when I'm driving. Except when i'm cruising on the hwy and then the tach is at about 2800 and i'll be doing just over 80mph. As for gas milage I get about 18 no matter how I drive it, so I drive it and have fun while doing it. No S/C as of yet bet in the works to geting one.
yeah I usually shift at about 3K. has anyone notice though if you are in too high of a gear at a lower speed there is a slight rattle or does it sound like my counter shaft bearing in the trans might be going up? GADGET if you hear me help!!
