09 speakers

does anyone know if you have to hook up the aftermarket headunit a special way for the speakers in the roof to work? when it was installed they used a wiring harness so i expected the roof speakers to work but i can hear anything from the roof.

just in the roof...:biggrin: but because you got speakers in the roof and none in the rear door panels...get some extreme kreation door panels...that way you got surround sound...:top:

Theres nothing to see, you cannot tell they are there unless you adjust the fade to the rear and stick your head up there. But I can take a pic of the headliner tomorrow.

anyone know what size they are up there?

wow. im definitely putting speakers in the rear doors now that i know there are mounts for them. and the speakers in the roof are such bs. i dont think they even do anything and thats why i couldnt tell if they were working.

WOW thats..... I dont even know what to say. Are there speaker wires in the door or will those have to be run?

Now Im thinking componets in rear doors (tweeters in the roof since thats where toyota put them:stupid, and upgradeing the front doors. Whats the biggest size you can fit in the front door and rear door?

As far as 08's go (no longer know if the 09's and 05's-08's are the same after what I just saw :dontknow they are 6x9's in the front and 6 1/2 in the back.

dremel + circle cutter + new speaker grille = :rock:

those speakers are almost as retarded as rear drum brakes:thumpdown:

No wires run in the rear doors. Best way for speakers because they are rear in a small cab, you only need rear fill. Remove speaker block on door and cut a hole in your panel for some co-axials. Dont try to cut panel and attach speakers to metal of the door theres just to much room. I used rammat and just put eclipse co-axials 5 1/4 . Sounds great. I put the rammat on the interior panel to add some mass to the plastic panel.. I'll post up some pictures of my build laterz
