EVO X wheel fitment?

well... went outside to find a screw in my tire... and the spare won't hold air.

given that I have 1/8 of an inch of tread before the wear indicators, i'm guessing it's close to time for an upgrade.

question is, will either of these wheels from the EVO X fit?

some considerations:

I know I can't (shouldn't) use their tires. Our center bore is smaller but I don't think we use hub centric wheels. Will the loss of an estimated 14mm on the inside cause problems or is there enough room for all of the suspension bits?

Evo X wheel/tire sizes for reference:

Stock Wheels: Enkei (EVO GSR)
Wheel Size: 18x8.5 +38 offset, Center Bore 67.1
Tire Size: 245/40R18 Yokohama Advan A13C (MY2008)
Comments: Cast, wheels are 22 lbs; wheel + tire 46.5 lbs.

Stock Wheels: BBS (EVO MR)
Wheel Size: 18x8.5 +38 offset, Center Bore 67.1
Tire Size: 245/40R18 Yokohama Advan A13C (MY2008)
Comments: Forged, wheels are 18.5 lbs; wheel + tire ~43 lbs.

size and offsets will be ok. is the bolt pattern 5x114.3?

oh also the center bore is wrong on those rims. you would need the 67.1 to 60.1 hub centric rings

pattern is correct. just needs rings then.

Unless you can find those bbs wheels used, thy are over 1k apiece lol

The gsr wheels are enkei and can be had around 500 for the set used if you take your time. The MR wheels look a lot like enkei raijins.

They will be way too sunken in, they would look proper with a +25 spacer in the rear +38 spacer up front. Personally i would just buy the right size so u dont have to run spacers

I agree with triumphx. IMO that offset is too high. Will they fit? Yes. Will they look good? No. They're going to suck into the wheel wells too much without a fairly large spacer.

which is interesting because the wheel offset calculator i checked shows that they will be recessed by a whole 2mm. which, seriously, is nothing.

Copied from our FAQ section

WHEELS AND TIRES
18 x 8 Alloy
Bridgestone Potenza RE050 255/45/ZR18
Bolt pattern is 5x4.5", 5x114.3mm
Lug nut size is 12mm x 1.50
Offset is +30mm.
Center Bore is 60mm
Wheel weight is 31lbs - 32lbs
Tire weight is 29lbs

Yup 1010 offset calc puts it at -2mm
http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

If your patient and score a set on the cheap go for it, fully knowing your going to need tires at around $800 for a decent set......

As for hub centric rings they are not needed if you take yor time installing the wheels, but for the cost of a cheap plastic set of rings makes taking the wheels on and off much easier!

i just double checked. 2mm more recessed than stock is correct. won't be great but it won't look terrible either. my rims poke out 6mm more than stock and there still not even close to being flush with the outside of the fenders

I'm torn because flush with the outside of the fender also means it's sticking out towards the bottom of the wheel wells, which I don't like.

it's like you can't win. flush with the top and the bottom sticks out, flush with the bottom (factory style) and the top is recessed.
