This is a project me and my oldest boy are working on. He always wanted a fiero and I found this 85GT with a 4 speed. It cost him $250 and he wanted some Archie V8 side skirts so we bought them for another $250, so he is $500 into it.I tried to start it and it turns over but wont start. I ran a compression tes and had 125 in hole 1 128 in hole 2 and 50 in hole 3. I didnt go anyfurther I figured it didnt matter if it was rings, head gasket, head or valves the motoor had to come out. It is now sitting on a crate I plan to tear it down this week and then make a decission if to rebuild or do an engine swap. If I do an engine swap it will be a 3800SC with a 6speed manual. This will be an ongoing thread I hope. Here are a few pics.

I saw one Fiero I'll never forget. I was with my mom and dad when they were picking up their new Grand Am. There was a Fiero in the showroom that had aftermarket wheels, skirts and a single scoop that peeked over the roof line. I thought is was the coolest.
Now they are Fire-o's. Good luck with the project.

Awesome father and son work.... Worked on a Fiero years ago... horrible experience trying to remove just the tranny and not the motor. Can you say glowing wires? Guess we should of pulled the battery.

Thanks for all the coments I hope it goes well. Most of my father son projects I remember as a kid went south and never got finished. Here is wat he is chasing. The side skirts on this car are the ones he bought

Yes I think he wants to paint it blue but that will be the last thing I am going to let him worry about. We need it running new suspension brake upgrade tunes then I will let him worry about paint....I disagree that SWB is Faster. RR is the fastest and a dying bread
