Does anyone with the Volant ram air scoop have any pics of where it actually draws air from? I've looked at all the pics I could find online about the scoop but can't see where the inlet of the scoop actually sits and draws the air in.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Those are the only pics I can find also but doesn't show exactly how the air enters the scoop

It's just a small opening behind/under that brace that holds it and runs the length of the surface you see at top. I came to that conclusion from looking at installed vs. uninstalled pictures.

I think I know what you're getting at... with the hood closed, I would imagine the air is coming in from behind your front grille, though not very direct, thus defeating the 'ram' effect. I would call it more of a 'cold' air than 'ram' air based on those photos.

You remove that plastic trim piece that goes from the core support to the plastic fan shroud. It replaces that part.

lol... is that one good ??? haven't seen it yet ;)

Kim I think as long as u use it with a genI TRD or AFE stageII Si intake ur ok. There have been issues with the Volant CAI making the truck run rich because the intake tube is a different size then stock, URD, TRD or any other cold air intake tube. Now u can however use a MAF cal with the Volant intake to lean it out and get the power back where running rich robs some power

Any luck yet Steve? I'm still lookin around myself

No luck finding the pics yet.
You can see the pic I posted earlier.
The scoop mounts in place of the plastic piece on top of the radiator. The lower lip sits a little below the grill opening across and behind the hood latch bar.

I think the pics I were looking for were outlaw7's from post #17 on this thread:

but he either moved or deleted them.
Shoot him a PM to repost the pics! :top:

That looks like a stock G35 intake. For the G35, it was no use.
