URD is announcing in a press release at 1PM EST that we joined forces with Bullet Performance and Innovate Motorsports to develop a cutting edge product to improve performance and fuel economy.

It has been long rumored that URD is developing a product suite for the 5.7 L V8 Tundra. Our new patent pending product boasts a 37 RWHP gain in addition to a 3.5 MPG increase at 65 mph.

This product system is based around a vortex generator installed between a throttle body and an intake plenum. A series of stator blades have a variable pitch to create the most efficient vortex generation at all engine speeds and intake velocities. The device is currently 93mm in length and the blade pitch angle is adjusted by a high precision servo motor similar to modern OEM throttle bodies.

The system also optimizes (in real time) fuel mixtures in open and closed loop ECU modes by utilizing feedback by an axillary feature of the soon to be released Innovate Motorsports LM-2 wideband controller. Data from the LM-2 is fed into a Performance Calibration Unit developed and manufactured by URD.

The URD Calibration unit utilizes inputs of engine speed, throttle position and airflow from the vehicle MAF sensor. These data points are used to calculate optimum blade angle in the vortex generator and calculate optimal air:fuel mixture. The calibration unit adjusts the blade angle in the vortex generator and alters the fuel mixture by a combination of altering the MAF sensor and air/fuel ratio (O2) sensors signals.

This system is suited for vehicles equipped with a throttle by wire system. The vortex generator length is ill suited for throttle bodies with a throttle cable. It is easier to move a wire harness than lengthen a throttle cable.

Other Toyota applications under development include all 1GR 4.0L equipped platforms. Once all Toyota and Lexus applications are fully developed, URD will release this product for other vehicle brands including many applications for General Motors, BMW, Ford, and Honda vehicles.

Production of the 5.7 V8 units will begin in two weeks. URD expects to ship these units no later than May 7th. The retail sales price is $785.

Next week URD will begin to accept pre-orders for Toyota and Lexus systems. The first fifty 5.7L and first fifty 4.0L systems will be offered at an introductory price of $575.

All GM applications will be distributed exclusively through Innovative Motorsports. All BMW applications will be sold exclusively through Bullet Performance.

What good intakes are available for the Tundra?
Your website shows the AFE for the Tundra.
Is that the only option right now?
Does it work for the 2014 models?
