Replace Shifter Boot

Bought a new shifter boot off of eBay but haven't the slightest idea how to remove the existing boot. Any recommendations? I've got a 2005 X-Runner. Thanks!

Just push it down along the edge and it pops out.
Takes only a few seconds.

The bottom has really small plastic "J" hooks molded into the console. . Place your fingers where the console meets the boot and push inward and down towards the shifter. It should pop out
