If only I didn't run 16" steelies in the winter...the 355mm 6 pistons would be on my truck :driver:

cheaper yes. But R as Good?

They might be a little cheaper but r they as good a braking system as TRD's 4 or 6 piston. I think I would like to have the 6 if there are any good. Any body heard the test on them.

Hi all..I'm new to this board, but not new to the world of performance brakes. I work for Stillen Sportsparts. Yes the place that is known for Nissan parts. Don't let that fool you we have a side division know as Brake-Pros that primary uses AP Racing products for their BBK...sorry no X-Runner kits (yet).

That being said, dont let the price of the Rotura kits fool you. You absolutely get what you pay for. Rotura uses Taiwan casting for their brake calipers and questionable materials for their rotors. I know the question was asked which is better. Without a doubt stick with the Stoptech or the TRD pieces. If noting else you will have a wider selection of friction materials for you pad choice. Several manufacturers make replacement pads for the Stoptech ST-40 calipers but nothing yet is available for the Rotura.

Just my two cents. Oh yeah...Stoptech is not owned by TRD, its owned by a company called Centric.

According to this, these are not cast, but billet aluminum:
Made of billet aluminum alloy and CNC machined to ensure the highest quality
The rotors are 2 piece and look decent:
-Rotora 2 piece vented heat treated directional vane disc system to improve airflow/cooling under severe braking. Slotted or drilled & slotted oversize discs (330x30mm) to ensure equal heat dissipation and increase thermal capacity while relieving the disc and brake pad surface free of excess debris.

Yes, apparently Cam2Xrunner on CT and TN installed them first back in 2004.
There are pics of them on CT:

This is a must before installing any type of power added to our trucks, as the stock brakes suck so badly.
I am considering the APR-X1, but will only install it after upgrading the brakes.
Even the Camry, Highlander & RAV4 have larger brakes than our "Sport Trucks"
10.8" (274mm) rotors are a joke for a 3600Lb truck.
Toyota really dropped the ball on this one.

I'm in the same boat as you (with the 16" rims for winter, but no steelies for me)... I would love to have a BBK but I refuse to pay $850 for snow tires to fit the stock wheels... It's all good though, I'm piecing together my own brakes with s/s lines, hawk pads and dimpled/slotted rotors.. Should give me a huge improvement over stock....
