SignUp Now!To be fair, you can't really compare a cars speedo to a bike speedo. The bike speedo can be off a lot if the tires get worn. How accurate are most car's speedo's at high speeds? I know on sport bikes kids were claiming to be hitting in the 180's and when they got a GPS they were surprised to see a much lower number.

I had a 600RR and I want to say it came with dunlop tires. I swapped them out with michelin pilot powers, and the speedo was off. You really should attempt to use RPM as the speedo in your head. I forget how to calculate but it can be done and it's more reliable because the RPM's don't lie!I know a lot of things can play into account on a bike. Most of the time's it's cause kids changed out their sprockets and would drop a tooth in the front and add a few in the back. I just wasn't sure how accurate they were in the cars at 100mph+
I know I'm reading the truck is governed at 124mph...but the fourth month of owning my truck, I tried racing my buddy in his gti on the freeway. I topped out the speedometer, so I don't know my exact number, but the gti was only pulling away very slowly with his speedo reading 135mph...
Im not trying to say my truck isn't governed, nor that xrunners in general aren't governed, but that wouldve been a 11mph difference if I was only going 124mph...no way the gti wouldve been pulling away that slowly...

This can help explain discrepancies. Just saying...

good day all. what exactly was done to remove the speed limiter. was it just cutting a wire?
Interesting thread, I am so tired of my speed limiter, the speed limit on my truck is at 170kmh (105mph) -_-
So I assume that your ECU guys is same as mine? Or should it be different since I have a different gearbox...hmm... I will have to search for violet wire with white stripes then xD I'm gonna do a dyno pull to see if it affects the VVT-I thing or not! Hopefully next week or on Thursday.
