wheel cap emblems

For any of you who have painted the wheel cap emblems, How did you go about getting them off and reattaching them?:hmmmm2: seems like they were melted onto the plastic

I have not painted mine but I have extras and took one emblem off and used double sided tape to stick it to the lid of my cold air intake. They have 3 hot melt tabs that hold them to the center cap, scrape them from the back side or drill them just a little bit and then you can pry it off the cap.

i used a razor blade to scrape off the part that was melted as best as i could. then if it still wouldnt pop off i used a soldering iron to reheat the back and let it pop out. then to reinstall i used the soldering iron again to melt them back on and if needed used a dab of super glue
