What kind of power do you expect to see out of this kit?
Are there any advantages to a mid-mount kit vs a more traditional set-up?

The only real advantage is it is easier to set up and keeps the engine bay empty... there are a few others but thatis the main one..

The previous owner saw 383rwhp with a tune.. I think I will be limited by me TRD injectors..

Eventually I will get it up in the engine bay.... this is a great kit to take the guess work out for a Turbo starter like me

Man I was thinking crazy... the small port is on the top and that large one should be the drain.. I'm at work right now ... but pretty much what I said about twisting it needs to be swapped..

But with what u said G
Could it be twisted 1 screw over which still leaves the drain in the downwards position and moves it up a Tad..? If the down is the safest and just the way it should be I will leave it like that..

You can rotate the drain anywhere from 5 to 7 0'clock or some poeple say no more than 20 degrees others say 45 degrees max, i think thats a bit much.. I wouldnt go over 25-30 degrees in rotation.

mounted the cooler... it is off set but that is because of the A/C lines

made a new intercooler tank since i could not find a spot to mount the larger one and welded in a spot to mount it,,

i re-ran the coolant lines to simplify the last set up.. kept it all on the passenger side...

i ran the oil lines but ran out of line for the return because of the new oil pump location...

the kit is almost done but making all the new brackets and mounting spots has taken a little longer...

almost done with everything... just have to get some wire and hook the pumps up and get the intake gasket and crank bolt... i finished running the oil lines...

triumphx i figured out what the red w/black stripe wire in the fuel wiring was for..... the ignition source to start the relay..??...it took me a good few head scratches to figure out what all the wires were for and how the relay was done... but i figured it all out... not that i was not able to figure it out.. i just wanted to study it and have more of an understanding of how it worked...

for yall who dont know.. he gave me an oddly wired relay with a circuit attached to it.. what it does is the circuit board has a capacitor and some resistors.. after the ignition is turned off the capacitor holds the relay open for about 30 seconds.. he had it hooked up to run the oil pump to put the low sitting oil back in the motor to avoid oil flooding the turbo..

does anyone know if the oil pump will pull oil to the turbo with the motor off? should i prime the turbo oil lines?

Man. I missed a lot of your progress this weekend. Looking very need finished Mike. Really liking all of the custom stuff to. Now it is exactly how you like it.

For the oil feed to the turbo, you can try pulling your ignition relay. Remove the oil feed line from the turbo. Then cranking the engine. It might pump enough oil to fill the feed line to the turbo. Just take a look after a few times of cranking. When you see the oil dripping, then re-attach the feed line, and pop back in the ignition relay.

i bought new intake bolts and the water pump bolt today..

im gonna pick up some wire on my way home tomorrow and get those pumps hooked up..

As torspd said just leave it unhooked to make sure you do have oil going to the turbo. Gravitation will pull oil to the turbo with the motor off, make sure you have the black check valve in the oil feed line somewhere.

i left it in the pressure line like you had it... i didn't use the red one though...

how the hell did you mount that huge tank... lol... i could not find a single spot for it.. tried to put it by the master cylinder but it hit the line on the side... then my alarm hood switch got in the way (easy fix)..

I mounted it in the right rear corner of the engine bay if your looking under the hood. maybe your alarm is in the way!?

??? not sure but it seemed the fuse box and a line on the master cylinder were not allowing it to go all the way?? but i found another solution ..

tomorrow or should be my big day!!!

what is left..

figure out where to put the vacuum hose for the waste gate
rear o2
wideband
belt
coolant
ground wires for the pumps (oil, ic)
final hose securing

i am going to see if i can undo the wiring harness some to get the rear o2 wires to make it over to the new location...

for first start up is it fully necessary to have the vacuum line on the waste gate? i still need to figure out if it needs to be at the turbo or on the intake...

.

all of the extra fabbing has taken some unexpected time and then i have only been working on it for a few hours a day after work... i want to call in sick so i can finish it.. lol..

To keep things simple,, start with the hose from the turbo to the wastegate. Then if it needs to be changed later, you can.

GOT IT RUNNING TODAY!!!

still have a few things to button up....

got a CEL P0031[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif].....
fault code is about an oxygen sensor heater circuit failure located in bank 1 sensor 1. (bank 1 is at exhaust manifold by the #1 cylinder head, bank 2 is on the 2nd cylinder head). On some engines, both exhaust manifolds could have one oxygen sensor on each side on both cylinder heads.

maybe i didn't get the main ones "clicked" in right.... my truck was up on jack stands and i was crawling around the engine bay.. lol... ya i fit...

ill look at it tomorrow..

i ran it down the street to park it since i had it backed into my garage.. i punched it once real quick... it didn't build boost??? wtf?? im hoping that the o2 has something to do with it and the truck is in safe mode.. when i punched it there was no power... when i say real quick it was really quick.. lol.. the lack of power made me say "nope" and let off..

the ride was about 6 houses down my street to a spot to bust a "U"

i was able to get the rear O2 wires to the sensors without cutting or extensions.. i unhooked the connector from there spot and the wires had plenty of slack.. so i just zip tied them in there new home..

i was not watching what i was doing when i was removing the o2's from the Y-pipe and when one of them came loose (used impact gun) it spun around the connector smacked the cat and the connector shattered.. so i got one to replace.. the contacts were fine... so i lined up the wires with one that was good and slipped it into the connector on the truck and gave it a few good layers of tape.. i do not think that one is my problem... but i will find out soon enough...

till tomorrow...

i still am going to build a "smack bar" to protect the turbo since it is a little lower than i wanted... ya i lets post that one pic up.. lol...

the plan is to have a bar in front and a slide cage under the turbo... till i can get it under the hood..

i am going to get some square tube and use some of my old rear bumper to make it look closed off... ill just have to post some pics when i do it... hard to explain..
