SignUp Now!First thing he said to stop using the launch control and just drive the truck. Next he had me up the tire pressure in the drag radials to 35 PSI. The 15 PSI was just to damn sticky.
On 10/8/10 I had a higher trap speed but a really bad launch. My first time with drag radials:
Went to the track today and made a BUNCH of runs. The T56 is much harder to launch due to the much taller first gear. It seems I am either bogging/stalling or smoking them. I think there is a serious bug in the X-Tune .05 Launch control that was causing some problems. I had a nice guy give me some advise. He noticed that my truck is really fast, but I can't launch worth a damn so he worked with me a little bit.

Made one really good launch and did not screw up any shifts, but the top end power really sagged a lot. Here is the slip for that run:
The loss of power on the top end had me very concerned, but turned out to be a belt problem. I lost a whole rib off of the belt and it was half off of the supercharger pulley. The supercharger was only being driven by 3 ribs and was slipping baddly. That was the reason for the loss of power.
So, reset the belt and made another 12 second pass, 12.886 at 110.44 with some loss of top end power and belt dust all over the supercharger, only 5 good ribs and one real iffy. Made another pass, lost more power and ran 13.138 at 104.06 and the belt was starting to shred badly so I called it a day and milked it home.
I really think that if that belt did not half jump off the supercharger pulley, I would of finally pulled ahead of Pool's time. Oh so close...
This is the original belt from years ago and was used on the original Mk1 system. Got some good life out of it...
Guess I need to go back and try it again.

Just guessing, old age and bouncing off the rev limiter to much during the burn out.
