Just saying, I will be swapping to the 4Runner rear disks. Need the proper rear braking. Will likely have to add in an adjustable proportioning valve, but I don't care. Shaves some weight and stops better.

AutobodyX has rear disks. I think the Stop Techs.

I have the rear disk kit as well, just waiting to be installed.

Personally I would prefer to do a similar swap (adding a Toyota truck's rear disk brakes, vice aftermarket brakes because it's significantly cheaper finding 4-Runner calipers/discs/brackets in a "Pick & Pull" that buying a new Stoptech system. Are there any 4 Runners using 5 bolt wheels (like our Tacomas) with rear disk brakes?

Would you still need to add a proportioning valve if you also installed the front disks from that 4-Runner? If yes, then what if you swapped the brake master too?

They are all 6 lug. Maybe a Rav 4 has something that would bolt up?

They were cutting costs to meet a price point. Dumb.

It would have been nice if they offered the rear disk brakes as an upgrade option. That would have been brilliant

Yep. I probably would have upgraded at a later date if I could buy an "off the shelf" rear disk brake upgrade kit from my local (or web) Toyota dealer.

Sdxrunner619 is the only member that I can remember. He might have that which you are searching for.

You should talk to autobodyx on here. He has the rear disc conversion. If i remember correctly he said that doing a rear disc conversion without a BBK up front would mess up the braking bias
