Its funny how you keep referring to the tire being a lower profile and it weights the same. In that statement you prove my point. Most of the weight is in the tread area, not the sidewall. So even if the tire dia. is the same you are moving the wheel weight outward, like you agree. So if the stock combo weighs the same as the larger combo(same dia), the larger combo will lose. Make the dia. larger and it loses by more.
There are a ton of variables, of course. What I am trying to do here is make people aware that bigger isn't always better, unless you are trying to win a car show. Then go ahead and get some 26" rims LOL!
