Figured it was time to upgrade the home computer; from the Acer 10" Netbook:frown: that I've been using since I bought my house last August (had to get the priorities straight, right?).

Was going to go with a full blown desktop setup (for my work or whatever) or an iPad (because my girl likes to draw and wanted something touchscreen)...so I did some browsing around and found this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+TouchSmart+All-In-One+Computer+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i5+Processor+/+23%22+Display+/+6GB+Memory+/+1TB+Hard+Drive/2170192.p?id=1218312455025&skuId=2170192

Found it to be a perfect common ground for what I wanted and what she wanted. It's touchscreen so she can draw and doodle, and it's powerful enough to do what I want. And if I want it to be even better, then all I have to do is remove the back panel to install more memory, upgrade the hard drive, etc..

Right now is has:

  • Processor Intel® Core™ i5
  • Processor Speed 3.2GHz
  • Cache Memory 512KB on die Level 2 + 4MB shared on die Level 3
  • System Memory (RAM) 6GB
  • System Memory (RAM) Expandable To 16GB (I have the other 4GB of Corsair DDR3 memory that I was selling; which I'm probably going to keep now that I have something for it to go in:biggrin:)
  • Type of Memory (RAM) DDR3 SDRAM
  • Hard Drive Type SATA (7200 rpm)
  • Hard Drive Size 1TB
  • Graphics Intel® HD
  • Video Memory Up to 1696MB total available (allocated by Windows 7)
  • Screen Size (Measured Diagonally) 23"
  • TV Tuner
  • Beats Audio
  • Built-in Webcam
  • Network Card Built-in 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector)
  • Wireless Networking Built-in 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN
  • Recordable DVD Drive, double-layer DVD±RW/Blu-ray Disc/CD-RW
  • Recordable DVD Drive Speeds -- 4x DVD+R DL; 4x DVD-R DL; 8x4x8 DVD+RW; 8x4x8 DVD-RW; 5x DVD-RAM; 2x BD-ROM; 16x10x24 CD-RW
  • Digital Media Reader or Slots
    Yes, digital media card reader
  • Bluetooth® Activated for Wireless Music, Video, Photo, and Data Streaming
  • USB 2.0 Ports --
    7 (2 side, 5 rear)
  • Keyboard Description -- Wireless
  • Other Control Devices (mouse, etc.) -- Wireless optical mouse, TouchSmart remote
  • Operating System Platform Windows
  • Operating System Windows 7 Home Premium
  • Software Included -- Cyberlink DVD Suite Deluxe; Roxio CinemaNow and more

Looks cool man. Let me know how you like the touch screen on it. My GF is thinking about getting one for college and design.

So far I have absolutely no complaints! Buying an All-In-One computer was really one of the last things I was looking at...but everything about it is perfect so far.

I think the couple people that gave this thing a bad review are just flat out retarded and shouldn't be using a computer anyways.

I will def keep you guys updated with my experience as time goes on:top:
