Oh... yeah that's just silly
Although... there is the possibility that you can buy a base model vehicle and put money into it to make it better than the "premium, fully loaded, blah blah blah" and potentially come out spending less.

Also agree, depending on which car/trim we're talking about. Here's a great example:

2010/2011 WRX Hatchback, runs faster in the straights than the STi and for $10k less. Yes the suspension, braking are a little less worthy but are the STi's brakes/suspension really $10 grand better than the WRX? I say NO way in hell it could be. If I were in the market for either car, it would surely be the 2011 WRX hatch and with a few suspension/brake mod's it will hang with the STi even through the twisties. The 2011 even comes with the wider body kit that the STi has.

Oh and yeah the STi has the 6spd tranny and the WRX is just the 5 but again, is that really worth an extra $10k?

Not I says the koof...Your breaks still squeakin eric?

Nope, squeel is all gone thankfully. My shift knob is still turning on its own, I had to loosen it like 3 full turns to get it to stop.

Brakes still don't improve That much, it's definitely a difference but surely not a BBK sized difference.

That FX has a one-off widebody kit. There's only one on the market and it looks like ass (not the good kind of ass either). By the time I'm done I would have spent close to 40k to get THAT FX based on a 07.
I made no claim that it was anything less than custom however it is sick and well
not so common as the X or any of that other shit....Lets be honest, the xr body kit isn't all that great either in some aspects  I didn't mean he should dump the cash to get that one, but I was showcasing what I would aspire to if i were in the same predicament. :top:

+1 Those SRT Jeeps are nice. One thing to think about is how rare big V8 engines are getting. Seems like all the auto makers are downsizing.

Well I've had mine for almost 16 months, sometimes I wonder if I ahuld've gotten a 4x4 taco instead, but for the options I wanted, I could get an X-Runner for $10k cheaper, I'll keep my X for now, but I am going back to Australia for a vacation in December and I really love the Hilux's down there i'm definately going to be taking a test drive on one of those puppies down there, I'd have to see about importing it to Canada, but another issue is the Right hand drive, i'm not a fan of that espesically on roads designed for Left hand drive. But I wouldn't rule out selling my X for a Hilux unless Toyota comes out with something new in 2013 for trucks.

get an Xrunner from australia!!... those things are down right ugly but they come AWD!! lol.

Agreed. I Really wanted an SRT-8 Cherokee at one point, was seriously considering it but calculating the cost of gas is what killed it for me. I drive too much and too heavy for it to be cost effective. They get 12MPG rated, which is only achieved with normal driving. Driving with a heavy foot will surely land you in single digits, and thats in stock form.

Yeah the gas will be expensive, but I have to imagine it'll be worth it! I'm going to pull the trigger anyway. :p
