dude i wanna do this. just afraid to take my guages off

It's super easy actually, you end up taking like half the dash apart but it's not bad at all... I did it by myself, taking them out took like 20 minutes.

Yes dimmer still works just fine. The replacement uses the same circuitry LEDs so there is no change in operation at all. Only thing that changes is color and brightness due to different wavelengths in LED colors.

heres mine. i changed jus the "number" leds and left all the others the stock color. i have a good camera but for some reason i cant get a good shot with the color. the first is before the "reverse lcd" mod and the second is after.

Its really easy eh.... humm for some reason i thought it would be a touchy pain in the ass jobbie. I want the white glows all over but was nervious to phuck anything up.

How many have you done?

I've done about 10 swaps out on vehicles, not just ours. Been soldering electronics for 10+ years though, and as I say in my first post, I will include 1 year warranty on the work.
