So I was reading a press release article from Toyota about the TRD S/C. This is quoted from the article.

This all-new TRD supercharger is compatible on all 2005 through 2008 model year Toyota Tacoma trucks, and 2007 and 2008 model year FJ Cruiser SUV. This supercharger system features Eaton roots-type rotating components in a one-piece integral manifold, iridium spark plugs, and a five-rib serpentine drive belt system. In addition it produces six to eight pounds of boost pressure per square inch.
^^ This got my attention pretty quickly. I don't know of anybody that has hit 8psi in the TRD S/C without the pulley. But if the TRD s/c is capable of creating 8lbs of boost on its own, then our internals should run 8lbs no problem, as this is a factory warranted product.

We ran 8psi thinking the blower was designed for 5-6psi, so isn't it time to start running 9-10psi???

Dude This Is What I Was Talking To Ds About. I Live In An Area That Is Low Humididty And Hits Temps Of 65-70 When Its Getting Dark. I Have Seen 7 And 8 Sometimes, No ****. I Run The Autometer Digital Gauge. Im Not Lying Here. Ill Get Video Of This.

ya i thought maybe it was lines to the meter or my voltage was off and giving me weird reads, so i have been kinda skeptical, but i paid some $ for this thing and i think its working correctly. XrunnIT, whats your vacuum reading at idle?

I don't know :dontknow:

I haven't got a Boost/Vac gauge yet. It is on my list of things to do. Actually I think I might get that before I re-do my exhaust.

thanks sport, i am hitting the strip tonight, going for 13's , ill get someone in the truck with me to get my psi readings, but it might not hit it because its been 100*+ lately.

XrunnIT, how come on their website it says "5-6"psi?

You have the TRD CAI right? Any exhaust work or headers?

I ran a 13.9 in mid 80* weather and about 65% humidity. If you can get down to the 70's with little humidity you should be able to hit the 13's for sure!

Keep in mind that this takes into consideration global altitude and temperature levels.

The blower may make 8 PSI with the stock pulley under certain conditions.

vacuum at idle should read 20-22hg

as most of you no, it really depends on the area, when i fist got my trd, with the standard pulley, it would barley reach 5 now it will hit 6 with the smaller pulley and a little farther when the temp is right. But i talk with a few running the standard pulley, seeing 6, it all depends on the area, also with a good tune, getting higher psi is possible too i believe, cause im untuned, i think after one, i could see 6.5 to 7.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

The blower was designed to not exceed the engines limits. And if 8psi is possible on the blower, then the engine can safely run 8psi. So with proper fuel management I don't see why the engine can't run up to 10psi without hindering the engines life span.

The URD guys that are pullied are running 9-9.5 psi right? No issues there.

ya i havent got to see my open loop afr's but closed loops looks to be in the right area. im guessin im lucky to hit these #'s untuned w/ stock pulley:dontknow:

not really....I havnt installed my pulley yet, but I will shocked if I see 9-9.5 psi out of it. Im expecting 8.

Just in a good location. Elevation, humidity, temperature, coolant temp, etc all play a factor in boost levels.

Your not going to gain any boost by tuning, but you'll get more out of the boost that is made.

also, the lightened crank pulley, i would think might help in a boost increase, being less rotating mass, such as lighter wheels would help to.

I was referring the the URD S/C and pullied trucks, not the TRD s/c & pulley. :top:

why wouldnt you, say if you get a tune, and gain, more horse and torque, why wouldnt it turn you s/c that much more, figure be a win win situation
